Overview

The Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm was developed by Windlab Limited, an Australian owned and Canberra based company listed on the ASX.

The Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm is a high performing wind energy project located in rural Victoria. The Project is jointly owned by the local community, Windlab Limited and Eurus. This is the first renewable energy project in the country with an ownership structure that includes the local farming community in this way. Windlab won the Clean Energy Council’s Community Engagement Award for this innovative approach.

Windlab began work on the site in 2011. Planning approval was granted by Buloke Shire in 2014 and construction began on site in 2015. It was completed on schedule and under budget in 2016 and has been generating renewable energy and reducing greenhouse emissions since. The Project contributes 264,184MWh of low emission energy generated by 6 Vestas V117 turbines. At the time it commenced operation the Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm was the cheapest wind power in the country.
